Our Team

French & French Interiors is a Santa Fe, NM based full service interior design firm, specializing in soulful, eclectic, high-end design with a hands-on approach. Heather and Matt French are nationally recognized for their excellence in residential, hospitality, and commercial interior design services.

The French & French aesthetic marries antiques, art, and modern pieces with an international flourish. Heather and Matt believe that design is about more than just the “pretty things”, well-thought-out spaces should solve a problem and allow for shared human experiences on a deeper level. Heather and Matt take a hands-on collaborative approach with clients to design spaces that represent and support the lifestyle and interests of their inhabitants. Heather and Matt distill client’s desires into beautiful, comfortable, functional spaces that promote soulful, fun, and nurturing experiences.

Matt and Heather are humbled to be 2020 House Beautiful Next Wave Designers, and thrilled to be part of the High Point Market Design Bloggers Tour. Heather and Matt are also members of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Historic Santa Fe Foundation. You may have also seen their work featured both locally and nationally in publications such as Better Homes and Gardens, HGTV, Country Living, The New York Times, Origin Magazine, Design Milk, Apartment Therapy, Santa Fe Found, and the Santa Fean. Matt French. Founder, Director Of Business Development And Lead Product Designer

Matt French is the co-founder of French & French Interiors. Matt’s background in construction allows him to see big-picture design solutions, and he enjoys creating inspired spaces that serve design needs beyond initial client vision. Matt was drawn to design from a desire to build innovative spaces and objects. Though he says skateboarding, punk rock, hip hop, and MTV drove his early aesthetic, he always enjoyed building things (from mountain bikes to off-the-grid homes). He grew up helping his Mother with her import shop, and developed a love for southern and international folk art from a young age. Matt believes the design process should be nuanced and intimate, and that the experience can be extremely cathartic for clients who are willing to open up and let their dreams be truly translated into a custom space. “The space you occupy is so much of who you are and how you feel,” he says, adding that great design can be spiritually nourishing when a space resonates emotional well-being.
